Mediation
When both parties in a contested matter become motivated to resolve their issues quickly and affordably, mediation can be a powerful tool. Mediation requires that an independent, neutral third party helps the parties of a legal action reach a voluntary negotiated outcome. Through mediation, the parties craft their agreement together rather than conceding that power to a judge alone. Ultimately, mediation allows clients to maintain control over the decision that guide their lives (rather than a judge who may not fully understand the dynamics of the parties’ circumstances).
Jim Schmillen is a trained mediator who often serves as the neutral third party guiding opposing parties in drafting their mutual agreements. Additionally, as a trained and experienced mediator, Jim is adept at helping his clients strategize and prepare for mediation opportunities in order to secure a positive outcome that meets their needs. |
I was somewhat new to the area and had a feeling that I would soon be needing legal services. My close friends recommended Jim, and I met with him for a consultation. No less than a week after the consult, I was served with custody papers from my ex-husband. Jim has now been my legal counsel for a year and i have been thankful throughout this time to have him and his office staff on my team. They are always there for my questions no matter how big or small. I have also had a tremendous amount of problems with my ex-husband throughout this custody battle, and Jim has handed it with great expertise and a calm demeanor. Exactly what I have needed during such a stressful time.
